The International Tourism Fair (FITUR) has announced Brazil as the official Partner Country for its 45th edition, set to take place from January (22-26), 2025, in Madrid.

The milestone agreement was signed at the Brazilian Embassy in Spain by Brazil’s Ambassador Orlando Leite Ribeiro and IFEMA Madrid’s Executive Vice President Daniel Martínez, marking Brazil’s debut in this prestigious role.

Strengthening Brazil’s Global Tourism Position

This collaboration comes amid significant growth in Brazil’s tourism sector.

According to Embratur, international tourist arrivals increased by 13% as of October 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.

FITUR will serve as a strategic platform for Brazil to further enhance its global visibility and leverage its diverse tourism offerings.

“Being the Partner Country at FITUR is an extraordinary achievement,” stated Celso Sabino, Brazil’s Minister of Tourism. “As we conclude a record-breaking year for Brazilian tourism, 2025 holds even greater promise, with FITUR showcasing our nation’s potential as we also prepare to host COP30 and BRICS.”

A Global Platform to Showcase Brazil

Marcelo Freixo, President of Embratur, highlighted the partnership as a key moment for Brazilian tourism.

“Under President Lula’s leadership, this achievement positions Brazil as a global tourism leader. We invite industry professionals to explore our stand, which will foster business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and showcase the uniqueness of our market.”

Ambassador Orlando Leite Ribeiro echoed this sentiment, emphasizing Brazil’s collaborative ties with Spain: “Spain is a vital partner in tourism, not only as a key source of tourists but also as a strategic investor. This alliance combines Brazil’s vast potential with Spain’s expertise to drive mutual growth.”

FITUR: A Key Gateway to Global Markets

Daniel Martínez, Executive Vice President of IFEMA Madrid, emphasized FITUR’s role as a gateway to the global tourism market: “This partnership strengthens ties between Spain and Brazil, offering unparalleled opportunities to showcase Brazil’s rich tourism assets. With last year’s FITUR attracting 250,000 visitors and representatives from 152 countries, the 2025 edition promises even greater impact.”

Immersive Experiences and Strategic Growth

As FITUR’s Partner Country, Brazil will feature prominently across the event’s branding, advertising, and activities.

Its stand, located in Pavilion 3 of IFEMA Madrid, will present immersive experiences, cultural displays, and business opportunities aimed at fostering investments and collaborations.

The partnership will also see the launch of a Europe-targeted advertising campaign, a continuous training platform on Brazil, and strategic agreements with international organizations.

These initiatives aim to promote Brazil’s diverse destinations, increase visitor stays, and maximize international tourist spending.

Showcasing Brazil’s Tourism Diversity

Brazil’s tourism presence at FITUR will highlight destinations from across the country, including:

With a focus on sustainability, innovation, and excellence, Brazil aims to position itself as a world-class tourism destination, appealing to a wide range of international travelers.
